STANISLAUS O'BEIRNE PIANO BIOGRAPHY


Stan studies with Andreas Ioannides in TU Dublin under the Music Excellence programme.

To date, he has performed on national and international television/radio as well as in venues in Ireland such as the National Concert Hall, Farmleigh House, the Lighthouse Cinema, An Táin Arts Centre, the Pavilion Theatre, the RDS Concert Hall, the Hugh Lane Gallery, the Coulson Theatre, Clandeboye Estate, the O'Reilly Theatre and Christ Church Cathedral. Internationally, he has performed at the Roman Baths in Bath, and The Royal College of Music, London.

Stan was selected to perform in the RIAM High Achiever Awards Gala concert for four consecutive years, with distinction in Grades 3, 5, 6, 7 and 8 in RIAM Exams and distinction in Grade 8 of ABRSM Exams; the only graded exams he has completed at present. Stan was Gran Prix winner of the John Field International Competition and has received numerous first prizes in festivals including the ESB Feis Ceoil, Feis Shligigh and Newpark Music Festival. He loves to partake in many masterclasses with pianists from around the world, including John O’Conor, Barry Douglas, Sofya Gulyak, Finghin Collins, Viktor Ryabchikov, Anne-Marie McDermott, Evelyn Brancart, Frederic Chiu, Lance Coburn and Joanna McGregor. He was selected to participate in the 2020 and 2021 NCH International Master Course as well as in the Camerata Academy in 2022.

Stan received first prize in the prestigious Frank Maher Classical Music Awards 2021, winning a €5000 bursary, which gave rise to features in various national press outlets. In 2022 he was awarded the Founders Cup in Gonzaga College SJ - specially awarded to acknowledge the achievement of personal excellence in some area of life. It may not be awarded each year, at the discretion of the college. He received it for his piano achievement.

He was awarded the Ad Astra Scholarship in UCD, where he is currently studying Engineering.

He was selected to be documented in a 60 minute documentary as part of Canadian documentary series entitled ‘Enfants Prodiges’, with series 1 aired in early 2019 on TV5 and TV5 World channels. The programme included a masterclass with renowned pianist, Finghin Collins, at the National Concert Hall in Dublin.

Other appearances in media include article appearances on numerous occasions in national news outlets including The Irish Times and The Irish Independent, as part of the ‘First Person’ series. Stan has amassed over 100,000 views on Facebook with the above news outlets. As well as this, I have busked on Grafton Street and have featured on Raidió na Gaeltachta and The Journal of Music.

Stan performs bi-weekly as resident pianist at restaurant, 'The Bank on College Green', as well as at the UCD Supper Club and at various other functions (weddings, funerals, Masses, etc.). He also has worked as a teacher to a number of students and continues to hone his teaching skills.

Stan runs a recording and composing business on Fiverr.com, where he records and composes music in all styles, both solo and as part of a group. He is now one of the top sellers worldwide on the platform with almost 200 orders completed in over 30 countries. He has also released a CD (available on most streaming platforms, and as a physical format) with Doppio Movimento and has featured in numerous video games, albums and radio shows as a result, amassing 250,000 online streams for his recordings/compositions.

Stan was awarded a scholarship in Gonzaga College in 2019 to receive organ lessons with Dr. David O’Shea. He also received multiple scholarships to attend the Piano Academy of Ireland and Sandford Park School on account of his musical ability, as well as the previously mentioned UCD Ad Astra Scholarship.

Stan has also completed all his grades in Musicianship with the ABRSM.
